Festivus {for the Rest of Us}

Our good friends, Stephanie and Andy, were big fans of Des Moines' Bacon Fest. That is until they couldn't get tickets one year. Three years ago, Bacon Festivus was born. 

I had just met Stephanie right before BF last year, so it wasn't until this year she rendered me 'cool enough' to partake in a day of bacon, fun and more bacon. They were even sweet enough to let Hutch join the fun. 

For the event, I made Bacon Brownies from scratch and bacon wrapped brown sugar infused potatoes.  KP gave me an Amen after he tried them. I guess they were good.

Of course, with KP's work schedule and Hutch's sleep schedule, we couldn't stay long but it was a great experience. Her friends were so sweet and although I couldn't have but a couple bites of the food, everything I did try was phenomenal and innovative. Who would have tried bacon wrapped dates?

This was only the table. There were counter tops full of food as well!

While some donned shirts that said "Bacon Not Stirred" and "If you liked it then you should have put some bacon on it" - all which came from the amazing local t-shirt joint called Raygun, Kenny and I decided to change it up. Check out our shirts.... CLASSIC.
