Take Me Down to Paradise City

Day 31 of quarantine here. Don't worry, this entire blog will not be dedicated to what I am eating or doing during this particularly insane time. What I can promise, is this blog will be a faucet of truths. Lucas, from Empire Records, says it best with, "Who knows where thoughts come from. They just appear."

So here we are. Nearly, two months has passed since KP and I whisked away to Mexico on an all inclusive vacation paid by my side hustle. I didn't earn extra money to go, I earned the actual trip as a reward.

Let's rewind over a year ago. I was preparing for my yearly "party" with my friends. You know, one of those in house parties where you can ditch your kids, booze up, hug friends and walk away with some pretty amazing items. Yep, one of those. In the past I had done Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Stella & Dot, Keep Collective, Martha & Mary and Lularoe. 10 years of shows made for a fun tradition.

However, this time was different. I met Jessi, a young Stella & Dot stylist. She was charming, sweet, smart and a born leader. She nonchalantly asked if I was interested in the business. Nope. Not me, I just have parties. I have too much on my plate. A full time job, two kids, yada yada. I booked my show and it was a success. It wasn't until I was putting away my booty, did I think of the opportunity again. Outside of my fine jewelry, I had 10 years of S&D - all in amazing shape - in my collection. I loved making women feel good - heck that is why I hosted parties in the first place. Relationships? Well, I pride myself on genuine relationship management. So, I did what any rational, busy woman would do - I took on more.

And I haven't regretted my decision, not once.

The Stellar Stellas

In January of 2019, I told myself two things. I wanted to buy a high-quality, heirloom dining table and I wanted to go on a vacation I didn't have to plan or pay for. In April of 2019, I went for Star, selling over $10k in product and Kenny and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain in Arizona. I had built a team of amazing women, I had a new community built on joy and empowerment and mostly, I absolutely loved every second of the hard work. Still do.

In July 2019, we drove our family to Denver for Hoopla (training) and met up with my Stella sisters, and my best friend and his family.

November brought a new career to life for me. The great thing about S&D is I could put it on the back burner and it was there for me when I was ready to pick it back up. Fast forward to 2 months ago.

We were just hearing about how the world was changing over the pond, but went ahead on our trip. I couldn't have been happier we made that decision. My passions were reignited at Glam Getaway in Playa Mujeres. I can't imagine going into this mess without a little release and guess what, the tequila did just that. for 6 days we did NOTHING but lounge, eat, read, sleep, dance and drink. We toggled back and forth between the pool and the beach. It was paradise.

Just Me and my Love

When we arrived home, we were excited to see our boys and thank KP's parents for giving us time alone. I brought back nothing but a cold (so I think.) Then, the entire world started to shut down. Within a week, I was parked at my beautiful new dining table - working from home, hanging on to my tan, my mind and the memories of Mexico. No regrets.
