Texas Part Deuce: Legend of the White Elephants

We left Suzanne's on Saturday to head to the Fort Worth Stockyards to meet up with my old crew, Lauren, Chris, Jake and Meg. We found them at the (if it wasn't famous before, it is now) White Elephant Saloon. I headed with the girls to do some shopping and the boys stayed to play - and they did an impressive job at that.

We still had not checked into the Marriott, Champions Circle by the Raceway.

**If you ever go to a NASCAR race in Ft. Worth, it is important you know the benefits of staying at said hotel. Instead of having to drive, park and walk to the race, the staff is instructed to take you (and pick you up) on these magical little golf carts that squeak past highway traffic. Totally trip time, to and fro, roughly 15 minutes. That, my friends, is worth every penny of this hotel.**

Now, we reached the hotel and checked in. Jamie and Eric met us up and it was so wonderful seeing them both. James looks great with perfect little pregnancy belly. Luckily, our waiter, Stephen, has patience of steel (even when Chris said he was trapped in a mosquito net, which was in all actuality, just a curtain.) Needless to say, our dinner was beyond comical. Regardless, we escaped without being booted and headed on a "not-so-sober-by-all" trip to Wal-Mart and back to the hotel just in time to witness the boys in the outdoor hot tub. By the end of the night, the entire staff knew exactly who the White Elephants were, so distinguished by matching t-shirts, and even more importantly, they knew Chris (the birthday boy) by name. Classic.

The next day was filled with race. Nothing but race. Oh and another exciting dinner with Stephen, of course. (He LOVES us) Fun fact: Mike and Dee Dee were staying at the same hotel as us. By the time we found them and met up, it was time to call it a night.

This quick little video explains why we were all in bed by 10p.m. Enjoy!

We miss you all so much already, and look forward to another trip very soon!
