The Oooh of Zumba!
Sure, I had lost weight but I realized I had lost more than that. I was a weenie - it was time to build muscle back! Slowly, I started to work out as directed by my cardiologist. I went on walks and bike rides, but with the weather as confused as it has been, I had to find an indoor alternative. While doing Farrell's in 2009 and 2010, I purchased resistance bands. I added those to my routine but it was to sporadic to call a regimen. Luckily for me, one of my friends had been teaching Zumba for a little while and I have been telling her, "Sure I will come" but never did. That is until a couple weeks ago and I tell you what (what?)... I am having a ball! I do Zumba 3 days a week when I can, supplementing with Hip Hop Abs and bands at home. I said it before and I will say it again - I want to have better buns by summer. I have used muscles I didn't even know I had! My body aches and I dig it. As you can tell from my previous posts, I get motivated by photos. A friend said to take a pic of the area you wish to improve. Here is the shot of my Kim K booty in the bathroom mirror. I know it isn't the best shot, but it isn't for you - I get to see this thing trailing me at all times so I can see and feel the change.
{ASS IF!} I would never post that on here. It's scurry!
However, here is a pic of me at the gym to prove I am becoming a dancing queen.
I need to reiterate just how hard it is to be in a class like this with only one working ear. I can't hear the instructor very well and my balance is shaky. That being said, I can now do this after some serious hard work and practice.
Again, I have talked about how my diet tanked during the winter. I am back on it and I am proud to say on thing has stayed consistent; Kenny has changed the way he cooks. Rarely does he use salted spices. He goes for unsalted or fresh everything. I am just glad he is taking it serious not only for me but as prevention for he and Hutch. That being said, we do cheat sometimes.
As for the other two in the Pod fam, they exercise too. Hutch doesn't stop. He is a mad man. Loves to run, dance, and play. He "rides" his tricycle and plays bags with Dad. KP has been back at running. He has two big runs ahead of him. One in April and one in May. Even when it is 25 degrees outside, he will put in a few miles. I am impressed.
Now, we don't only exercise our bodies, we exercise our minds. Books are a part of every night. I hope our kiddo likes to read as an adult. Something tells me he will.
Well, that is us in a nutshell. With Easter coming there will be much more to tell. Easter egg hunts, the big bunny and possibly joining a new church. I love holidays! Stay tuned!
