On It Like a Bonnet.

For two days, we had abnormal yet dreamy 80 degree Spring temperatures...and we were on it like a bonnet.

Wednesday, after work, I had a lumbar MRI. It was enough to warrant a beer, so Kenny and I went to Granite City and sat on the porch. It was beautiful!

On Thursday, April 1, it was to climb into the upper 80's. We both bolted out of bed at 5:45 a.m. I went for an long walk with my neighbor Jenny and Kenny took Charlie on a 5 mile run. I even left my sweatshirt at home. We both headed to work knowing that weeks earlier we had planned a night out with our friends, Alicia and Adam, and that would get us through the day.

The four of us decided to take full advantage of the weather and found Cafe di Scala, in Des Moines. The quint restaurant is nestled in an old home in Sherman Hills and serves fine Italian dishes. We opted for the wrap-around porch seating and soaked up as much sun as possible. After dinner, we headed to The El Bait Shop, an awesome bar similar to Tapworks in Oklahoma City but with a large area of deck seating and a beer garden. It was packed and we spend the remainder of the evening under an umbrella on the deck with the soon-to-be bride and groom! It was a wonderful night!

Team Awesome at El Bait Shop.

Sorry for the blurred photo. I assure you it was not our state of mind.

Side Note:

While at Dinner, we decided we would rate the places we visit together. Prior to Thursday, Adam, Alicia, Kenny and I visited a place called Lucca for my Birthday.
For what it's worth, our ratings are out of a total of 5 stars.
Small, cozy, amazing food and vino list, yet pricey
Fresh ingredients- great meal, not a large menu selection

The bar inside kind of smelled like a foot mixed with fried food but the service and drink selection were up to par
