{I'm}Possible.

Well, folks. I have done it. I have made it to my first weight loss goal.
As of this weekend, I have lost a total of 80 pounds since I checked into labor and delivery on May 30, 2011. That is insane.

I'm a Jayhawk. He's a Tiger. Talk about house divided.

I keep getting all the same questions:

Do you feel better? Well, yes and no. I have always felt comfortable and confident no matter what size I was. Life to me was so much more than that. I feel better now because I get to shop for a whole new wardrobe and people are very complimentary, but health wise, meeehhh. Don't get me wrong, I feel healthier. I am absolutely eating better but I feel like I can't kick butt at the gym like I used to. That kind of stinks.

What are you doing about clothes? I am selling my entire maternity and pre-baby attire (bikini's included - eek!) on Craigslist. You get a better bang for your buck. Plus, I love clothes. I take good care of my stuff and if it weren't for the weight loss, I would have kept it all! So if you need some clothes, let me know! :) I have purchased new dresses that I love and clothing for work plus jeans. The downside, I am growing out of those too.

What are you doing? This is the same answer always. LoSo, fo sho. Low sodium diet. I have outlined a ton of stuff in this past blog - Awesome Low Sodium Diet Blog. However, I am only normal. I had the holidays happen just like the rest of you and I teetered back and forth with a few pounds. My family did the best they could to cut back on salt, but I tried to wade through the holidays best I could adding walking when the weather was nice or hitting up the mall for some serious mall walking (window shopping).

How much more are you wanting to lose? Well, my next goal is another 10lbs. To me, that seems like a lot. I don't want to start looking unhealthy or unbalanced. There are some people that lose too much weight and their heads start to look out of proportion with their body. I don't want to be skinny, just healthy. I am happy when I have some curves.

How have you rewarded yourself? A new pair of 'fancy' jeans. That is the ultimate sign you are losing because your jeans are truth-tellers. They will tell you when you need to gain, lose or buy a new pair. (Muffin top, plumber crack, the droop, etc)  I am also paying it forward by donating some older clothing and I am growing my hair out to donate to Locks of Love (only 3 inches to go!) - which is a reward for both parties! By this summer, I will be sporing a whole new look. Maybe I will celebrate New Years again then - who knows.

Ahh PEEK!

The greatest thing about transforming my life the hope I am spreading the good word to my son and inspiring his life with a healthy outlook. KP has been better too. He's not smothering everything in cheese or seasoning. He has lowered his beer intake (with some exceptions) and has vowed to help as a running mentor again this spring and summer. That means he will be training for the Des Moines Marathon in the fall! You go KP!

As for me. I plan on starting a gym with the encouragement from my sister who joined last week and has lost 7lbs so far! I need to increase the blood pumping through my heart to strengthen it. It's a hard feat during the winter months in Iowa but is possible for sure!

Wish us all luck in our healthy endeavors. We love and appreciate your continued support! And if you are interested in knowing more, just ask. As you can tell, I don't mind sharing!

Love, Tab
