Diary of a Pregnant Girl: Growing, Healing, Preparing

{growing}

Without even realizing it, my feet disappeared.
It is almost as if I became pregnant overnight.
While doing some stretching before bed, I looked down and the perspective had to be caught on camera. My little miracle is growing quite cozy in his temporary headquarters and I am certainly playing the part of hostess.

{healing}

It is no secret; my husband feels crummy. He has had one of the roughest weeks of his 34 years and he needed a little boost. I tried to do my part to help him process and encourage him to get back to his passion - running. Hutch and I thought it would be a swell idea to load a basket full of goodies as a surprise. Protein bars, Fat Tire, Russell Stovers Caramel Eggs and a gift certificate for a new pair of running shoes. I love seeing my husband run - it makes me almost jealous to know he has such amazing focus, it serves as an outlet and he pushes himself for him and no one else. I am a proud wife to know, he went for a run that very day.

Charlie thought it would be nice to give KP a plant.
We thought the leaves looked like Bisbee ears and it seemed only appropriate.

{preparing}

Learning to be a mom doesn't just happen overnight. Because I had a sad hubby on my hands, I thought he could be a Guinea pig for a recipe his mom told me was one of his favorites. Golden Grahams, marshmallows, and chocolate chips mixed like Rice Crispy treats.

While pressing these treats into the dish, I thought it would make sense that wax paper could do all the work and I could avoid digging treat goodness out of my nails all night. This is a prime example that everything is not going to go the way it was planned but in the end, it didn't matter. Kenny was happy, they tasted good, and I have learned by trial and error. (More so, the error part)

Which brings us to Tuesday. Week 35.
Only 35 days until Hutch's due date.

Week 35 - Hutch's actual size: a large melon or a roasting chicken
(which is really funny to imagine)

Tab's actual weight gain: 15 lbs

The pressure is starting to take a toll on my hips and lower back.
Sleeping is nonexistent and getting (more like falling) into the car with a grunt has become a way of life.

If I could change one thing, I would take away the pain but it would be replaced by something else. Kind of like when you hear prescription commercials that say what they will cure but the side effects are absurd. (Taking ____ may cause blindness, itchy butt and patches of random hair on your body...) I think I will just grin and bear it.

Only a little over 4 weeks left to go and we will have a little man in our arms and we will have a new love in our heart.
