Lighting Up
April is Autism Awareness month, and to kick it
off, April 1- all you have to do it light up - Light It Up Blue that is.If you have never heard of it before, go here to get more information. All the cool kids are doing it.
It takes takes only 3 easy steps to help educate others.
One:
Buy a blue light bulb. Home Depot partners with Autism Speaks to produce affordable light bulbs ($1.65 each), however, when I went, they were all out (which means people are doing their part) and I had to get the fancy pants ones. 100% worth it for my cause. While there, strike up a convo with a few people in the lighting department to spread the word...

Two:
Plug it in. Simply replace the existing bulb with the blue bulb you purchased. It gives you a reason to clean those outdoor fixtures anyway! If a pregnant lady can do it, anyone can.

Three:
Light it up! Flip the switch and wait for your neighbors to ask some questions. Why only today? What’s up with the blue? Who are you honoring? We may only be one little house in po-dunk Iowa, but just like that, we have sparked awareness in our neighborhood!
