Diary of a Pregnant Girl: Forty Hands

You know. The swollen, pudgy kind? That is me right about now. I actually didn't want to post at exactly 40 weeks (because I thought I could jinx myself and not go into labor) but I didn't have another hand to add the plus 1 day.

It seems as though Hutch has his own agenda. I guess with all the weather our friends and family were enduring in Oklahoma and Kansas on his due date, he decided he would wait for a calmer day. Sending love to our friends, Lauren, Chris, Meg and Brent (and their families and friends) who lost their homes at Lake Canton in a destructive tornado. Our wind damage looks like nothing in comparison to what they have to clean up down there. But here it is...boo. Thanks to our sweet neighbors who helped us move the pillar out of the way.

Now to the good. These last few days we have had off together have been wonderful. Who knew you could get so much done around the house when you didn't have to work or weren't traveling on your vacations. Charlie has been enjoying the extra Kenny time too.

I know I mentioned before that Kenny is basically the cook around our house, especially lately. If you have never had his famous quesadillas, I suggest you do in the future. My favorite are his steak and mushie but these are his chicken and poblano pepper dillas with a side of tomatillo salsa and lime. Try this at home.

Every night it is a new story during 'count the kicks' time.
We have made it into Sesame Street books. This book is part of a mint condition Sesame Street encyclopedia collection from the 80's. It was a stellar find. It teaches Spanish, sign language, letters, number and has tons of short bedtime-type stories. Charles even likes them. (Look at the snoozer by my feet)

So here we are today at 40 weeks and 1 day.
It is obvious that I am pretty exhausted.

Week 40 - Ethan's actual size: Well, the doctors thought if we made it this far, he would be a 9 pounder. *Insert uncertain/intimidated smile here*

Week 40 +1 day - Tabbie's actual size: Roughly 24 lbs weight gain.

Right now, I am just hanging in there.
Walking, working and waiting. Listening to the sounds of quiet and enjoying each other.

On Saturday, Cinda, Dad, Samm and Ben are coming up if Hutch has not made his appearance. We will all hang out and wait together at that point. Kenny's parents will make the trip up for the birth as well. I am scheduled for a Monday evening induction but we are praying for a natural and safe delivery before then. We are lucky enough to have our personal nurse and my bestie, Lauren come to visit the first week of June! I can't wait to see everyone.

Please keep everyone in your thoughts as we go though the next week with the delivery and travel.

One way or another, We WILL have a baby by next Tuesday!! EeeeEEEEee!!
