Notorious T-A-B

That's right blog followers. I am larger than Biggie Smalls himself. My son is now calling the body part, formerly known as my belly, his vacation hot spot. I have been trying to tell him, vacation is over, time to come home.

This week we completed our 38th full week and entered the 39th. Last Saturday, we were up for a few hours with our very first real feeling contractions. On Monday, when we visited the doctor...what do you know? I am dilated to a 1 and 50% effaced. Thank goodness I am progressing a little.

Here I am.

Week 38- Hutch's actual size: A Watermelon

Week 28- My actual size: Ginormous

It didn't help that this photo was taken on the hottest day of the year.
The swelling was in full swing and there is just no such thing as being completely comfortable at this stage in pregnancy. All worth it.

Needless to say, if I were a dog, I would have taken after Charlie and laid on the tiled bathroom floor to cool off.

Moving on.

I was able to spend some quality time on Saturday with my gal pal Katie. We had an outstanding dinner on the patio at Bravo overlooking a pond. We finished the night just hanging out on my couch, talking and talking. It felt really good to have adult conversation that wasn't all about baby stuff. I will say, I drooled over her wine, but she bought me a beautiful bouquet of yellow tulips - my fav. So thoughtful!

On Mother's day, Kenny took me to a nursery and let me pick all the flowers/plants I wanted. While he was on his long run, I got some exercise and planted them into pots and the garden. That will give Hutch and I something pretty to look at all summer long!

I also hung out with my mom. :)
(Shout out to my nephew, Ben and his school Lakehoma! Holla)

Hey look, there is a squirrel in a tree...

Other than playing outside and walking a lot, we have been inside mentally and physically preparing ourselves for our biggest life change yet. Kenny and I thought it would be funny to practice diaper changing (and the football hold) on Hutch's toy dog.

And if you ever want to know what your closet will look like when you can't bend over to find a missing shoe, here is a sneak peek....

And after your amazing, helpful husband cleans it up.

I really hope the next post will be of my sweet son's arrival into this world, but if not, see you at Week 39!
