Diary of a Pregnant Girl: The Wrench

Kenny and I opted to have our last day of work be on Friday. This advanced leave would allow us to do all those ‘honey do’s’ we have been putting off for the last couple of years before our long awaited due date of May 24 (tomorrow). Our list is long but we thought it would be a great passage of time until Ethan decides to bless us with his presence.

Here are a few things we have done to be productive while passing time, and enjoying our last few days as the two of us.

Dining out at one of our favorite places - Flying Mango

I had this fine dish. Mango lime shrimp with corn bread! mmm

Kenny had the cajan catfish and ribs with corn bread! Oh man!

We rearranged our room and assembled our pack n' play until our bassinet comes.
I didn't even know KP was taking a pic - hence the 'durr' face. He got my big Hutch belly, my reflection in the mirror and Chaz Murph on the bathroom rug.

Charlie got comfortable laying on my belly.
Don't you think his Pierre-style mustache is le awesome?

And then we taught our dog to be a storm spotter. Good dog.

To pass the time on Sunday, we met our good friends The Lee's out for a ballgame. Cubby Bear wished us good luck with a little tummy rub!

Now THAT, my friends, is a ballpark footlong. I can't wait to have a hot dog or bratwurst again!

KP has been cooking amazing meals to feed us and we have been walking more and more each day. We also tackled our huge bathroom closet, the office closet and completed Hutch's nursery. Below is the grand tour. We wanted him to have plenty to look at. Mission accomplished. When I asked KP if I could post this video, he said, "I don't know. I sound nerdy, and I didn't tell him I love him." My heart grew 10 fold because I am positive he already knows that.

I also started a new craft - a new post will arise out of this work in progress so stay tuned.

So what's the wrench you ask? Well, today I went to the doctor and zero progression. My doctor said he was going to give me one week to do this naturally or we would be induced next Monday evening. Not like it is a big deal, but I am overly sensitive these days. I almost started to cry thinking of having to wait another long week to see our son. The suspense is getting to me. I keep knocking my belly on things because I don't realize how big it has become. But I need to relax and listen to my Dad. He called today and said, "Look at it this way. It will be a very long time before he calls the shots again. Let him have his time because after he is here, you are responsible for making all the calls." Good advice. Thanks Dad.

By the way, I have taken all the advice I was given to promote E-Day. So far, nothing has worked. However, my neighbor just said something about sugar biscuits...sounds like they are worth a shot.

Kenny pointed out today as we were leaving the docs office, "Well, if he is procrastinating, it is from me - If he is stubborn, it is from you."

Me stubborn? Nahhhhhh...
