3. The Tabbie and the Hair: Part สี่

That is Part 4 for all of you non-Thai speaking friends.

Here we go. It is Saturday and I had a decision to make. Do I get ready at all today or do I jump in the shower, wearing my lovely leopard shower cap, and forget my hair all together. I made my decision based on KP's commitment to run the Botanical Gardens Flower Power 5K with his mentoring group. The shower cap looked exquisite.

I wore my hair straight for the race to ensure we would be there on time. Hutch and I cheered on the See Us Run participants. The sight of him clapping had the runners wearing their widest grins as they passed by.

After post race events came to a wrap, we headed home to get Hutch into bed for a nap that would get us through the Des Moines Arts Festival.

This was my chance to apply makeup and do something fun with my hair. To me, day two hair is perfect for curling. For some reason, it holds the curls better and the natural oils serve as both a protectant and a smoothing serum. Done and Done.

{the look}
the downtown and dirty
Soft vintage waves with sultry yet colorful eyes.

{hair}
Dry, day two hair. If your roots are oily, I suggest Hair Powder by Bumble and Bumble. I also have a friend who uses a light rub of baby powder, however, this only works on blond hair. Spray a light coat of hairspray all over and start to curl wand-style. Considering this was only a half-day look for me, I did not pin each curl to set. I just sprayed them with Paul Mitchell's Clean Spray light hold hairspray and let them fall. Once my entire head was curled, I lightly combed out the curls to make the vintage waves, then finished with another light coat of hair spray.

{makeup}
I used the same simple run down as yesterday, with the exception of eyes. I added a bright pink shadow called Gaze by Lancome and used it in the crease instead of wedge. I am disappointed it didn't show up well in photos, it seemed pretty bold in person. Oh well. Here they are anyway!

{clothing}
Elastic waist skirt with a white tank. It was cool today so I broke out a RL jean jacket. It is my most favorite. Reef flip flops to finish off my lazy Saturday outfit. No jewelry, no shades!

Oh hey.

I assure you this pink was much brighter and I was not taking a nap although I wish I was...

Tab in the front, Hutch in the back. He is looking in the mirror thinking, what the heck are you doing, Momma?

{information}
My grandfather is doing better from what I hear. Still wish we were closer so we could go and visit sooner.

Had another heart thingie last night. My heart rate climbed to 152 bpm in my sleep. I was exhausted today it was worth spending the entire day with my family outdoors.

Entre.

Check it. KP & Hutch scoping out what the Art Festival had to offer.

By the pop out puzzles. Each piece designed by a kiddo!

XOXO  Tabbie
