5. The Tabbie and the Hair: Part Deux
Down to 5 fabulously full days of enjoying long hair. Last night, I had a night-hair-mare. In this dream, my hair was short. Pixie short. With natural curls, it turned out to be a mini-fro. Guess that is the chance I will take.
On a good note, yesterday, I received a compliment from a vendor at work. He said, "You look fancy today. Very nice." Reminder, it was a side ponytail and dramatic eyes. Winning.
June 21
{the look}
Naughty knotty
Soft doe eyes, a plump kisser and a messy top knot with banding braid.
{hair}
Wash, dry, flatiron. Those three are all optional. If you don't like to blowout your hair, if you only wash your hair every other day, or if you don't like to flatiron your mane, this style will still work. Ah the beauty of it. Just make sure, even if you air dry, that your hair is dry or it will be too tight. The difference between the hair-spiration I linked under the look and my do... my hair is fine with layers so my knot is smaller and messier. Also, I am fringe less - bang free.
{makeup}
BASE: Same Bare Minerals base as yesterday, but with a thin application of MAC concealer under to cover allergy bags under my eyes. MAC Prism cheeks. EYES: MAC Painterly Paint Pod all over lid and brow bone to hold eye makeup into place. MAC Carefree shadow all over, MAC Wedge in the crease, and MAC Folie blended into the outside corner. MAC Dipdown liner only 2/3 the way across the upper lid and two coats of mascara. LIPS: Same Victoria's Secret Nude Liner, a special edition MAC lipstick from Sofia Loren - not sure of the name but it is very mod/nude, and clear Mary Kay Lipgloss over the top.
{clothing}
Knee length, slip on, red dress with cinched waist and a crisscross neckline. Dark brown Franco Sarto gladiator sandals with a sipper up the back. Big hoop earring showcasing complimenting colors such as red, brown, natural, and bronze. Grab and go day.
I have to mention that I has a wonderful lunch with my pal Steph at a little place called Host in downtown Des Moines. I suggest the Curry Chicken Salad sandwich and the sweet potato salad. Delicious. I had a girlies nigh out with two of my close friends Alicia and Katie at Dos Rio. The food was good, but the company was just what the doctor had ordered.
While downtown, I noticed setup for the Des Moines Arts Festival was in full swing. Because we won't be making it to Kansas to see my grandpa, we have decided to take Hutch down there instead. Hope we find some new art for the house but I really hope we get to see my grandpa well again soon.
Tomorrow is JEANS DAY! I am thinking super casual hair and fun colorful makeup! Stay tuned to see what unfolds!
